Beach Clean Success

Thank you to all the club members and members of the public who joined us on Sunday to help clean the beach. The event was a huge success with plenty of rubbish collected. The types of rubbish found indicates that it's beach users leaving it behind and not rubbish being washed up by ships. The top three items found were bottle caps & lids, cigarette butts, crisp & sweet wrappers.

All the information detailing the rubbish collected will be forwarded for use by the Marine Conservation society.

Help Us to Clean Up the Marine Envvironment

Here at Triton Scuba we strongly promote environmental awareness within the community and as a result we are helping to co-ordinate and promote a beach clean up. We have done this before but this year we hope it wil be our most successful one yet.
The beach clean up is part of wider campaigns being run by Project A.W.A.R.E (Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility & Education), the MCS (Marine Conservation Society) and Southsea Town Council. Our group will be covering the beach on the east side of South Parade Pier towards Eastney.
We will be meeting at 2pm at South Parade Pier where we will be given a health and safety briefing and be provided with the equipment we need to clean the beach. We will be recording our finds and this information will be used by both Project A.W.A.R.E and the MCS.
We welcome voluteers from the community and if you would like to help then please contact either David or Katie at Triton Scuba on (023) 92838773 or by email: helpdesk@tritonscuba.co.uk to register your interest.
